INSTALL WINDOWS XP WITH BOOTABLE PEN DRIVE ::

What if you don’t have a CD/DVD ROM to format your Windows which is installed on your PC and suddenly if it gets affected with virus ? What do you do? Buying a CD/DVD ROM would be the only option to you but let me tell you that there is also an another option available to you and that is to boot from a USB Pen Drive to install Windows into your system.

Now, The Process of making a USB PEN DRIVE bootable is ----

Requirements ::
2 GB Pen Drive for Windows XP
CD/DVD containing Windows setup

Step I ::

1] The first step towards creating a bootable Pen Drive is formatting your Pen Drive. Make sure that ur Pen Drive is formatted in FAT32 file system.
Once the Pen drive is formatted, move over to next step.
2] Download WinToFlash (dwnld link given at the end of the post). Once the download is complete you need to install the program and run it. The software is of size 6.7 MB.
3] Launch the program and you will get a screen where you have to locate the Windows File Path which will be your CD/DVD drive containing Windows Installation CD/DVD and in the next tab you have to provide the USB PEN DRIVE address.
4] Click on Next , and your all Windows files will be copied to your Pen Drive and it will be made automatically bootable.

Step II ::

Setting Up BIOS –
This is what you have to do now. You have to set up your BIOS so that it can boot from your Pen Drive.
Go to BIOS menu by continuosly pressing DELETE button while startup (I think most of you know this). After you enter the BIOS, go to ADVANCED BIOS FEATURES > HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY. Here you will find your SATA HDD and your PEN DRIVE. Select your PEN DRIVE and give it d 1st priority by moving it into the top. Save your settings & Exit BIOS. Your system will reboot now.

Step III ::

Setting Up Boot Menu –
After your system restarts, go to the Boot Menu, select HDD > your PEN DRIVE and press ENTER. A screen will appear with some options. Select the 1st option i.e "TEXT MODE SETUP(BOOT FROM FLASH AGAIN AFTER FINISHED)" and your system will start copying files from the PEN DRIVE.
After the 1st half completion of your Windows installation, your system will reboot and again the same screen with options will appear which appeared while setting up Boot Menu. This time you have to select the 2nd one i.e "GUI MODE SETUP, CONTINUE SETUP + 1ST START OF WINDOWS". ( You will again have to select this option for the installation of third & final part).
